A multi-plate LSD built to answer the two common complaints about multi-plate units — chatter and uneven engagement. HPI use a split pinion-shaft design to prevent uneven face load from gear-mesh error, a specially heat-treated plate pack for durability, and a reinforced-pin drive for response. The LSD effect can be adjusted in 3–4 steps by rearranging plates. Everyday driving is quiet; the LSD comes in strongly when it’s needed.
Features:
- Multi-Plate Design: The standard high-performance LSD architecture.
- Chatter-Reduced Plates: Special heat treatment reduces the “baki-baki” chatter typical of multi-plate units.
- Split Pinion Shaft: Even face load on the pinion gears despite mesh error.
- High-Strength Drive Pins: Reinforced pin design for durability and lag-free response.
- 3–4 Effect Steps: Swap plate stack to tune LSD effect without replacing the carrier.
For Hiace owners wanting a durable multi-plate LSD without the noise penalty.
