Artec's objective was to reduce manifold internal volume to sharpen response and to also keep is as high flowing as possible. To do this they used a non-tradition (in the aftermarket) reverse rotation design. This allowed Artec NOT to have to use tight radius bends. This is because, the standard rotation turbos put the turbine inlet flange too close to the block.
